Rob received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from East Carolina University and Master's Degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois. While at the University of Illinois, he studied instrumental conducting with James Keene and technology for music education with Sam Reese.

He is a Past President of the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association. In 2008, Rob was inducted into the John Philip Sousa Foundation's Legion of Honor. Currently he serves as the chair for the VBODA Marching Assessment Committee and on the National Band Association's William D. Revelli Composition Contest Committee. He maintains active memberships in MENC, VMEA, VBODA and the National Band Association.

Mike Oare – Director of Bands, GBMS 

Mike received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and an additional degree in composition and arranging from Old Dominion University. He has been the director of bands at Great Bridge Middle School since 1991. Mike serves as the arranger for the Marching Wildcats.
                                                                                         

Sandy Lister – Guard Instructor, Coordinator

Sandy is a 1978 graduate of Great Bridge High School and rejoined our band staff in 1994. She is in demand throughout the year as an adjudicator for Color Guard both in the fall at Marching Band Competitions and for Indoor Guard. Sandy was a member of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps from 1978-1980
