Who Are We….

The Great Bridge Band Parents Association (GBBPA) is an organization designed solely to support all the band programs currently operating within the Great Bridge School system. It is our mission to provide support (financial and administrative) to ensure the success of our music program.

How Do I Join....

If you are a parent of a Great Bridge band student (6th through 12th grade) you are automatically a member. There are no dues involved, and we meet on the second Tuesday of every month (September through June) at 7:30 p.m. in the band room at Great Bridge High School. We encourage everyone to attend these meetings.

Committees

Wildcat Bingo

Every 6th Sunday night, 5-10:30 p.m. Lynnhaven Bingo.  This is our biggest fund-raising effort and requires approximately 20 people per night.  It’s a great way to meet and mix with other band parents, and make money for our program.  We can accommodate almost any schedule.

Concessions

Miss those fast food days of your youth?  They’re back! Five home football games, 5:30-10:00 and various other opportunities during the school year.  We sell hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, etc. to our hungry fans and have fun doing it.  Sign-up early for specific nights.

Ways & Means

Uniform Committee

Seamstress skills required for the altering of our160+ Marching Wildcat uniforms and making flags used by the Color Guard.

Hospitality Committee

Responsible for the “watering and feeding” of our Marching Wildcats and coordinating several social activities throughout the year.

Education Committee

Help coordinate musical educational opportunities which fall outside of the normal school curriculum, such as community concerts, theatrical/musical performances, etc. Our scholarship program is also under the purview of this committee.

Chaperones

The wheels on the bus go ‘round and ‘round and each time our students are on them we need chaperones.  You get your own personal ID tag with this job!

Audit Committee

The money and equipment comes in and goes out and we need detailed-oriented people (preferably with some financial accounting background) to help us keep our books straight.

Equipment Committee

We call, they haul.  It takes lots of equipment for our young musicians to perform so if you like to get your hands dirty, step this way!

If you have any other specific or general skills (mechanic, builder, dancer, CPA, nurse, doctor, philanthropist) that you would like to put to use, please let us know.  Most importantly...get involved.
