Mr. Ross joined the Great Bridge High School faculty in the summer of 2015. At Great Bridge, he serves as director of the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Ninth Grade Band, Jazz Ensemble and the Marching Wildcats. Mr. Ross is also an active member of the Virginia Music Educators Association and the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association.
Prior to joining the faculty at GBHS, Mr. Ross was a band director at Chantilly High School. Mr. Ross served as both Associate and Director of Bands during his eight year tenure at CHS. While at Chantilly High School, the Marching Chargers earned numerous awards and accolades, including three Bands of America Regional Finalist placements, two class AAAA Bands of America Regional Champion awards and earned first place honors (2005, 2010) at the James Madison University Parade of Championships. The ensemble also performed at the Music for All National Concert Band Festival (2008) and at the 70th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack in Hawaii in 2011.
Mr. Ross holds a Master of Music degree from James Madison University and a bachelor of Music degree from George Mason University. Additionally, he studied at the University of Virginia where he assisted with the formation of the Cavalier Marching Band in 2004. He is also a former member and instructor of the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps and Tarheel Sun Drum and Bugle Corps.
A native of Virginia Beach, Mr. Ross resides in Chesapeake with his wife Lauren.
